So you want to make your own captive nut puzzle with a twist? Excellent. Here are the drawings I used to make in this video.
In addition to raw materials you will also need a couple springs as listed below.
(1) Compression Spring 0.625″ OD x 0.054″ Wire X 0.5″ LG (like McMaster # 9657K127 only cut down to length)
(1) Compression Spring 0.375″ OD x 0.042″ Wire x 0.8″ LG (McMaster # 9657K86)
I also highly recommend fine tuning the lengths on the key pin as I did in the video to compensate for the tolerance stack up in the assembly.
